Casting Call for Regular Season Show,
by Ronald Harwood
This bracing, heartbreaking drama is an elegy to a by-gone era. The setting is backstage at a theatre in the English provinces during WWII, The play focuses on Sir, the last of the great breed of English actor/managers, who struggles to prepare, with help from his loyal dresser, Norman, for a performance of King Lear. The Dresser is about relationships that move us and passions that drive us, all set in a world within a world that is the theater.
"Enthralling, funny and touching. Lovingly delineated dramatic portraits...Almost any actor would jump at them." - New York Post
